Computer Engineering B.Eng.

Hagen

Studenten in einem Labor

Summary

A telephone that can also be used to take pictures? Of course! A washing machine which washes our clothes without damaging them? Of course! A car in which a number of computers take care of our safety, reduce fuel consumption and communicate with each other all the while? Even that is possible today!

It's impossible to imagine our day-to-day lives without information processing. The Computer Engineeringcourse deals with the use of computers in technical devices. This includes the development of specialised computers, integration in the system to be controlled as well as programming and communication between computers.

Computer Engineering is an interdisciplinary field comprising elements of IT and electrical engineering. The necessary components from both fields are taught to allow computers to be successfully integrated in technical systems.

Career prospects

Our graduates are in great demand in all companies which develop and operate computer-controlled systems. The increasing integration of technical and business operating procedures in the companies also opens up new perspectives for working in the realisation and operation of such solutions. The South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences also offers graduates the consecutive Master course Applied Informatics.
